Library implements CyberSetting to address CIPA filtering mandate for multiple branches

Sewickley, PA - 06/18/04
- InfoWorks Technology, a leading innovator of library automation software, today announced that Warren Public Library has implemented CyberSetting to provide filtering functionality for multiple libraries, utilizing one CyberSetting system installed at the main library location. “Libraries are searching for a solution that supports their compliance with CIPA requirements while minimizing impact on staff and patrons,” said Jesse Song of InfoWorks Technology. “Ease of disabling the filter when appropriate is an absolute requirement, and ease of system installation and administration is another key criteria. Finding an affordable solution that effectively supports these needs within their environment is a challenging endeavor for libraries. CyberSetting is such a solution, which sets it apart in the library market”.

Adds Song, “In contrast to other available filter, CyberSetting was developed specifically for the library environment with their interests in mind, including CIPA compliance. Functionality that may be essential for corporate environments but not libraries has been left out of CyberSetting to offer a more affordable solution, which is critical for libraries given their shrinking budgets and funding cuts. This streamlined approach also simplifies the system, which is appealing to the many libraries with limited technical systems support resources.”
